Astronaut ice cream! |
Had our first class in a week today. You have no idea how
hard it was to get up and go to class. Anyway, after class me and another girl decided to take a “mental health” day. We went
to the Science Museum, just the two of us. We basically hung out in the space exhibit because space is
awesome. We decided to go to one of their 3D IMAX short science movies. We went
to the one about space. Obviously. It was awesome. Space, stars, galaxies on
the giant screen in 3D was great!
Afterwards we wandered around the museum and played
with all the science things designed for children. But, come on. We were at the
science museum taking a “mental health” day. It was totally acceptable. We were
at the Science Museum for quite a while. It was really fun. On the way out we
bought Astronaut Ice Cream. It was pretty good. Had the texture of dry wall,
but it actually tasted like ice cream.
After the Science Museum we headed out to get dinner before
our play, Charlie and the Chocolate
Factory. Couldn’t find anything to eat so we ate at Pret. It’s a little cafĂ©/take
away store. Not very good, but it’s fast. So we ate there. My sandwich was
drenched in mustard. Too much.
But, Charlie and the
Chocolate Factory was one of the best plays I’ve seen so far. The set was
AMAZING! Every set change was flawless and spectacular. I loved it! The little boy
that played Charlie was perfect and adorable. He was so cute! The play was
funny and entertaining. The music was good. Willy Wonka was extremely funny! He
was very sarcastic and I loved how his character was portrayed. The worst part
was the freaky squirrels during the song with Verruca Salt. They were creepy and
very out of place. Also, Willy Wonka had a hard time singing Pure Imagination, but that was fine
because that scene itself was wonderful. He and Charlie were holding hands in
the Glass Elevator, which was floating around the stage lit up with stars as
the backdrop. It was gorgeous. But, the ending
where Charlie put on the purple velvet coat with tails and the top hat and
carried the black-and-white stripped cane like Willy Wonka was wonderful too.
The two of them together in their matching outfits were adorable. I just loved
the play. I left feeling so happy. I had a little ball of joy inside me all the
way home.
And that was my day. It was a really good day. Lots of fun
and it ended spectacularly.
Enjoy the few extra pictures from the Science Museum.
